We have a simple ethos at Live Differently; Live to Sleep, Sleep to Live. Sleep isn’t something that should come at the bottom of a long list of things to do. It should naturally come top and centre along with good food and water. Live Differently is an online space and digital magazine that provides information and resources to empower you to own and prioritise your sleep. If you own your sleep and live in a way that helps you to sleep well you can achieve incredible things in your waking hours. That’s what Live Differently is all about.
The one thing, practice or thought that can always boost your motivation is…
A good night’s sleep! and a deadline. Having a deadline puts me into super focused mode and my motivation goes through the roof! Having a good nights sleep helps means I can focus for longer and be more productive.
The best thing any one ever told you is…
It’s possible to ‘have it all’ just not all at the same time.
One thing that is special about your career and/ or business is…
Live Differently is about gathering all the information from all the different sleep doctors, experts and resources and presenting it to you so you can find what works best for you. Sleep isn’t a one size fits all and so it’s important to get the full picture and understand what is important and what isn’t. Sleep is important but so is not over thinking it.
With an influx of sleep products and information over the past few years it’s easy to get hung up on sleep and how well we’re doing it which is what causes us to not do it well. Sleep is THE one thing that we can’t work at because once we do and start to think about it too much we can’t sleep. Although at Live Differently we want you to understand how important sleep is and to prioritise it, we also don’t want you to focus on it and so we shift the focus to being successful and productive in whatever you do, as sleep is a natural and free element that allows that to happen.
With a grounding in Broadcast Journalism, Charli has worked in the media for over 15 years. She left her job at the BBC in 2016 to pursue a different life. You’ll find her sleeping, gathering information on sleep or getting stuck into an interior design project. But, she spends most of her time writing and helping as many people as possible to own their sleep and live differently.
