This International Women’s Day I am thrilled to feature a lady who inspires me in many ways, a true cheerleader of women, Nikki Swan. With her business, Mindful Swan, Nikki has really tapped into the needs and challenges career women have and has created a powerful formula to help them.
There’s often more going on under the surface than meets the eye. We’d all like to glide through life gracefully, like a Mindful Swan, but sometimes we may feel like we’re frantically kicking just to keep afloat.

We provide no-nonsense, informative talks, workshops and workplace coaching to educate and inspire individuals to develop their own wellbeing toolbox.
The one thing, practice or thought that can always boost your motivation is…
Yoga. It’s so easy to get stuck in your head, overthinking/ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. Yoga is an antidote for all of this and if I ever have time off practice, I ask why on earth I’ve left it so long when I go back.
The best thing any one ever told you is…
Nothing you ever do in your career is a waste of time. I was told this at a particularly challenging point in my professional career when I felt disillusioned, stuck and unsure about the direction I was going in. It was annoying at the time! But on reflection, it’s often through the toughest/most frustrating of times that we learn the most. It’s so valuable to ask yourself, ‘what am I learning from this?’
One thing that is special about your career and/ or business is…
People! It’s such a privilege to be a trusted and non-judgemental listener to my Clients. Asking them questions which facilitate insights – in turn, creating big shifts in their career/life experience, teaching tools and techniques to overcome the overwhelm of work or to make bold leaps in a new direction. It’s really rewarding to see my Clients realise just how talented they are, and step into that new found confidence.
Nikki is a Coach, Speaker and Wellbeing advocate. Prior to setting up her wellbeing business, Nikki spent 15 years in the corporate world, (ex Big Four), serving Clients including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and RBC in a tax advisory capacity. As well as being a Fellow of the ICAEW, Nikki holds an Accredited Diploma in Coaching, is a 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher and holds Certificates in teaching Mindfulness, Meditation and Relaxation as well as Practitioner Certificates in Resilience and Positive Psychology.
