I am an international career and business coach, speaker, small business owner and multi-million pound enterprise sales professional. I grew up in the mining town of Chesterfield in North East Derbyshire. My school was a normal secondary school with no 6th form and an uninspiring view of careers for women in STEM.
After completing a BSc (hons) in Recreation Management and armed with my fitness qualifications I started my career in fitness and hospitality. Since then I have worked across pharmaceuticals, medical devices, IT, cybersecurity and telecommunications; proving that it really doesn’t matter where you start in life. I want to inspire people and introduce them to coaching, people and resources to enable them to move forward, wherever they started from. As part of this I am a volunteer mentor for charity The Girls’ Network.
I set up my coaching practice to help people of all means and at all levels of their career or business to gain the skills they need to progress. Whether you are in hairdressing, finance, medicine or any job, there are some skills that traverse all industries and careers at all levels such as networking, sales, personal brand, self-promotion, navigating organisations and career or industry change.
The one thing, practice or thought that can always boost your motivation is…
A beautiful sunrise or sunset. No two are ever the same, and I get so much energy from all of the beautiful, inspiring shapes and colours.
The best thing any one ever told you is…
You bring yourself and your emotion into your working relationships and that is why customers connect with you. Don’t hide that and don’t be ashamed of it.
One thing that is special about your career and/ or business is…
The amazing people I serve. Throughout my career from fitness to pharmaceuticals, it has been my honour to help and advise customers through an array of different issues and projects. The thing one often forgets in sales, is that the decisions customers make based on the information you give them can change or save a life, or make or break a career. Being a trusted advisor is a responsibility that I have never taken lightly, and those client relationships are what make my career so special.
